Brain coral (Platygyra acuta) is a common hard coral in Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park. At Coral Beach, there is a Brain coral Garden where these corals are abundant and extensive, forming underwater scenery reminiscent of mountain ranges. Unlike its relatives in other countries, the genus is exceptionally dominant in many areas of Hong Kong waters.
